Our Team

Dr. Bordner grew up in Fresno, California. Following high school, he served a two-year church mission in Venezuela, becoming fluent in Spanish and developing a love for learning about other cultures.

Following his service, Dr. Bordner earned his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science at Brigham Young University. During college, Dr. Bordner worked as an ophthalmic technician, where he developed his passion for eye care. That passion led him to attend the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.

During his training, Dr. Bordner gained valuable experience in retinal, corneal, diabetic, and glaucoma eye diseases in Charleston, SC. In 2013, Dr. Bordner earned his Doctorate of Optometry.

Dr. Bordner practices comprehensive optometry, and he specializes in:

• Dry eye treatment, where he uses the latest technology like IPL and LLLT to help his patients find solutions and relief.

• Ocular disease diagnosis and treatment

• Myopia control

He sees patients of all ages and loves being a part of the North Atlanta community.

While not in the office, Dr. Bordner enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. He also enjoys sports of all types.

Dede joined the Coal Mountain Eye Care team as our newest front desk team member, and she's already made herself right at home.

Originally from Chicago, Dede brings a warm, welcoming spirit to every patient she greets - she genuinely loves helping people and making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels comfortable and cared for.

When she's not at the front desk, you'll likely find her crafting or spending time with her two beautiful grandchildren, who are the light of her life.

PJ joined Coal Mountain Eye Care in 2026. He has been in the optical industry for 32 years and is a certified optician.

His mission is to offer the best and most professional optical services to our patients, staying current with new materials and technologies to provide the best possible solutions.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and professional photography.
